Посетитель наших коллег, сайта 7королевств, прислал подробный доклад об увиденном им (счастливцем!) во время поездки на Мальту. Вот что пишет GroEL:

 Где снимали: Azure Window, одна из главных достопримечательностей Мальтийского архипелага, находиться на острове Гозо. Сьёмочная площадка представляла из себя квадратную площадку с четырьмя серыми колоннами в античном стиле по углам. Вокруг разбиты небольшие палатки кочевников. 

Что снимали: свадьбу Дрого и Дейнерис.

Почему нет фото: представители HBO попросили воздержатся от фото-сьёмок.

Кого видели: Дейнерис Таргариен, Визерис Таргариен, кровные дотракийцы, неопознанные люди в хламидах и синей краске, люди в греческого вида красных туниках (похожие на тайских буддийских монахов). Массовка из приблизительно 100 человек состояла преимущественно из мальтийцев. Отныне говорим дотракийцы, видим перед глазами мальтийцев.

Костюмы и грим: дотракийцы одеты в кожаные одежды, косматы, волосы заплетены в косы и дреды. Некоторые в кожаных шлемах с металлическим шипом. В ушах серьги в варварском стиле. Обмундированы копьями. Боевой дотракийский аракх висел на боку у экипированных лошадок, он не похож ни на одну из версий фанов, cо стороны он напоминает боевой серп на ручке или Хопеш, заточенный с обратной стороны.  

Актёры: Гарри Ллойд (Визерис Таргариен) беседовал с GroEL-ом, рассказал, что Дрого (Джейсон Момоа) играет великолепно, а у HBO в команде есть люди, читавшие «Игру Престолов» 6-7 раз, так что всё под контролем.

 Over at our colleagues site, 7kingdoms, a visitor named GroEL shares his impressions from the Malta shooting, which he most fortunately witnessed (translation by Westeros.ru):

While sightseeing in Malta, I thought there was a chance for me to stumble upon the  «Game of Thrones» crew, but didn’t seriously think it would happen..

I didn’t take any pictures, since the HBO guys asked me not to, explaining that they have the exclusive rights, and that I might have legal issues considering the copyright. Then again I didn’t want to upset the people that are doing something we love and need. They were glad to learn that I am a Martin fan, asked me how many of the books have I read etc. Then they said, that they were shooting the Drogo and Daenerys wedding, and that I can watch how it’s done from the side.

The place is called Azure Window, and it’s one of the mane attractions of the Maltese archipelago, located on the Gozo isle. Many divers come here to enjoy the wonders, both on the surface and underwater. 

What and whom I’ve seen: Daenerys Targaryen, Viserys Targaryen, Dothraki blood-riders, some unrecognized people dressed in mantles and colored blue, people in Greek (?) red tunics (resembling the Thai Buddhist monks). There were about 100-200 crew members, who were huddled in a cozy transportable type of wagons. The extras were about 80-100 men, who were probably Maltese. Hence I conclude that the Dothraki are going to have typical South-Mediterranean features. Among the bride and groom’s entourage I spotted only one girl with an African appearance (dressed in a mantle, colored blue), and one Asian man (with a Dothraki braid and cloths).

The Dothraki were dressed in leather, as nomads would. They were shaggy, with braids and dreadlocks, screaming and hooting as true barbarians when they had to. Some had leather helmets with a metal spike on the head. Barbaric earrings in their ears. Some held spears. I didn’t see any bows or shields.

However I did take a good look at the Dothraki horses (they had about 6-10 of them), and a combat Dothraki Arakh, which hung on the side of the equipped horses. There were long debates amongst the fans regarding the appearance of the arakh, and I have to say that it doesn’t look like anything the fans had offered. From the side it resembles combat sickle on the handle or Khopesh, sharpened on the back side. Personally, I don’t understand how would a hobbler strike such a weapon and hold himself on the horse.

The horses are all good, nice and tidy. It’s obvious that they are well taken care of.

The wedding was filmed at the beach, a square area in the corners of which were placed four gray columns, ancient styled. Around were placed the nomad tents of small size.

After the shooting of that scene wraped, the extras left to dine and drink in the pavilion. Among them walked Viserys Targaryen (Harry Lloyd) himself, with sunglasses on and  MacBook in his hand. I introduced myself as a Martin fan and asked for an autograph. Lloyd was surprised and asked me how many books have I read and how did I like the shooting. I said that I expected the Dothraki to be more Mongolian-like, which surprised him. He said that was interesting, and although he’s not sure about the Dothraki, Drogo acts magnificently.

Then I asked if there was anything I could do as a fan to make the series better, he said no, basically the crew is working with the fandom very closely and they have people who read the book about 6-7 times.

Daenerys was interviewed at that time, so I didn’t approach to ask for an autograph. However I can say that she is beautiful.

Whom and what I didn’t see: Illirio, Drogo, Mormont and the three dragon eggs. Thus I can’t say anything about those.
